She dreamed of having that kind of moment her whole life. And when something unexpected happens during the course of her performance, was it the time to back down? No. She knew how to handle it like a pro.

Tagged as the ‘Next Big Diva’ in the beginning of her journey, everyone knew that Morissette Amon has that superstar quality set to make a name for herself in the showbiz industry. She aspired to be a singer and started fulfilling her dream at the age of 14. She joined various singing competitions and musical productions. When she competed in the first season of The Voice of the Philippines in 2013, she became part of coach Sarah Geronimo’s team. Since then, a lot of doors have opened up for her even though she didn’t win in the said competition.

As she continues to rise up in her singing career, Morissette is now dubbed as ‘Asia’s Phoenix’. She became part of the ASAP family, and was then introduced as one of the Homegrown Divas.

Morissette’s extremely high octave “whistle” proficiency in singing is one of her remarkable qualities, which was also considered in giving her the title.

Just recently, Morissette performed her major solo concert in Araneta Coliseum. Titled “Morissette is Made”, the show was held last February 20. In an interview on ABS-CBN News, Morisette shared that it was truly a dream come true for her, performing in the “main concert hall for the greatest performers locally or internationally”. She has indeed lived her dream in staging her concert at the Big Dome. After her success in Araneta, she brought her concert home.

Being born in Cebu, Morissette staged “Morissette is Made” as a Homecoming Concert in the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino just this July 14. It was her big night, showing her hometown how much she has grown in her singing career.

They say that a phoenix symbolizes an exceptional person who could arise from the ashes. And to prove how much of a phoenix she is in this video, Morissette took a failed whistle as she hit the high notes singing her signature cover of Regine Velasquez’s “Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka” in stride and said in jest: “Live!” and successfully belted that whistle again to the delight of an appreciative audience. She turned a potentially embarrassing situation into a ravishing moment worthy of acclaim.
