Being in showbiz since age 6, Julia Montes literally grew up before our eyes, not only as a gorgeous young lady from that cute, pretty tot we all loved on Goin’ Bulilit, but also as a versatile actress who has matured and improved with her craft.

Julia really made the most out of the opportunities given her, revealing her exceptional acting chops in several drama outings, particularly on the classic anthology Maalaala Mo Kaya.

When that chance of a lifetime came, being given that breakthrough role of Clara in the remake of Mara Clara in 2010, she truly astonished us with her ruthless and cunning yet moving depiction of that legendary teen antagonist opposite Kathryn Bernardo’s Mara.

She truly left an indelible mark in the minds of viewers with a promising dramatic prowess that is set to shine further.

In 2011, the then 16-year-old also joined the teen-oriented ensemble drama Growing Up with Diego Loyzaga as her loveteam partner.

Then more major primetime roles came and so were the accolades.

She landed another significant portrayal when she played Katerina Alcantara in the award-winning drama Walang Hanggan that earned her the “Phenomenal Primetime Princess” title and the “Princess of Philippine Television recognition during the 44th Box Office Entertainment Awards.

That momentous feat was followed by another heartwarming tale of love Muling Buksan Ang Puso where she saw herself stuck in a love triangle with Enchong Dee and Enrique Gil.

Julia’s acting flair was put to the test when she had to be an antagonist again in the period drama Ikaw Lamang where she portrayed the ferocious and obsessive Mona Hidalgo, the rival of Kim Chiu’s character Isabelle. Her impressive performance in the series gained her a Gawad Tanglaw Best Actress Award and a PMPC Star Award for Best Drama Supporting Actress nomination.

But the most challenging role she has ever taken was a dual portrayal of identical twin sisters in the Kapamilya Gold drama Doble Kara, which required her to show off two completely different personas – the nonchalant and doting Sara and the rebellious and aggressive Kara.

Her remarkable work in the well-loved series gave her another Best Actress Award from the 14th Gawad Tanglaw Awards and a nomination from the PMPC Star Award for Best Dramatic Actress category.

She also lent her mesmerizing charm and formidable acting talent in the long-running child-oriented show Wansapanataym Presents, with the most recent episodes as Yamashita’s Treasures, and Annika Pintasera.

And this 2018, the multi-awarded young actress to treat us with another sure-fire teleserye hit Asintado, wherein she would play the family-centered yet vengeful protagonist Ana.

With her successful streak in both film and TV, adorned by the awards and recognitions she has received, Julia has become one of the brightest stars of Philippine entertainment industry.
