We see them everyday as the fantastically energetic momshies who fill our mornings with delight in Magandang Buhay. They inspire us not only by their featured stories, but also by their words of wisdom that speak their kind hearts. They gave us a good perspective that being a momshie can be an excitingly terrific job. But before these beautiful women became the super momshies they are now, of course they were once daughters to their parents.

We all know the men who have swept them off their feet, and gave them their wonderful children. But do you know the men who loved them first? To celebrate Father’s Day, let’s all discover how the momshies are as daughters to their fathers.

Jolina Magdangal was the second princess of daddy Generoso “Jun” Magdangal Jr. She has an older sister before her, and a younger brother after her. In an episode of Magandang Buhay last May 2017, daddy Jun shared how much of a blessing Jolina is to them as a daughter. He also revealed how clever and funny she is, being a sunshine in the family. To expose more about their father and daughter bond, Jolina posted a photo of daddy Jun last June 2017 while performing a shocking prank. It was her father’s day tribute to him, expressing all the love she has for her father. Jolina told him that she would never forget all the lessons he taught her, all the love and care he gave from the very beginning, not only to her but to the whole Magdangal family. She said that she knew what the phrase “family first” means because of her father. Momshie Jolina also asked for daddy Jun to pardon her for using that picture for her father’s day post, and said that she only had to do it because she’s her dad’s number one fan when it comes to his humor.

Meanwhile, Karla Estrada is an understanding and sweet daughter to her American father Raymond Ford. Although there’s this truth that her dad left her while she was still a baby, because he thought that she did not survive her birth, Karla and her dad has gone through the phase of patching things up and now have a good relationship with each other. Back in September 2015, Karla shared her experience to everyone when she visited her father abroad. It was her first time to visit him in his home at Philadelphia. Then up to now, momshie Karla’s connection with daddy Raymond has become consistent.

On the other hand, Melai Cantiveros was remarked by daddy Dionisio Cantiveros as a prayerful daughter. Melai is the third of their four children and was their only daughter in the family. In an episode of Magandang Buhay last April 2017, Melai’s father got emotional in sharing how thankful they are for her support to them as her parents, even until now that their unica hija already has her own family. In response, Melai expressed how pleased she is that she is blessed for having such parents who never pressured her once. She thanked them for just wanting her happiness.

True enough, no matter how protective and sometimes strong our father can be, the love of a daughter can make them bend. We may not understand them while we were young, or sometimes argue with them while we grow up, time will come that we will be mature enough to understand why they do what they do. Furthermore, who we turned out today wouldn’t be complete if it weren’t for them. We salute you, popshies!
