Last Sunday, Justin Alva, Ang Comeback Kid ng Lucena, was announced as the representative of Kamp Kawayan in the Live Finals of the third season of “The Voice Kids”. He received 47.08% of the votes beating the other members of his team: Heart Salvador received 35.12%, while Xylein Herrera got 17.85% of the votes.
Even though he didn’t made it last season, Justin didn’t give up on his dream and auditioned again this season. From the Blind Auditions, he immediately captured the hearts of everyone and made a very impressive comeback. He continued to impress the coaches and judges with his unique voice throughout the competition and now, he is one of the Top 3 young artists who will compete in the Live Finals.
Before the Grand Finals this weekend, let us look back at his journey and previous performances in the top-rating reality singing competition.
During the Blind Auditions, he performed “The Search Is Over” popularized by Survivor, which received a three-chair turn from the coaches. Coach Lea immediately recognized him from last season and complimented him that he got better. After the three coaches pleaded their cases, he chose Rock Icon Bamboo to be his coach.
For the Battles, he sang “I Won’t Give Up” popularized by Jason Mraz with two of his teammates Hans Santos and Mai-Mai Quezon. After their heartfelt performance, Coach Bamboo picked Justin to advance to the Sing-offs.
For the Sing-offs, he performed “7 Years” popularized by Lukas Graham. After the performances of his team’s young artists, the Rock Icon picked Justin to advance to the Live Semi-Finals with his teammates Heart Salvador and Xylein Herrera.
For the Live Semi-Finals, he performed “Open Arms” popularized by Journey. After the performances of the Top 3 kids of Kamp Kawayan, the televiewers voted and chose Justin to represent Team Bamboo in the Live Finals.
