Eleven years ago, 14 teenagers from different walks of life and parts of the Philippines entered the popular Pinoy Big Brother house, carrying with them the aspirations they had for their families and their future and the stories of their lives that indeed served as inspirations not only to their housemates but to the spectators and their fans. With high hopes of notching at least one of the slots in the “Big 4”, particularly bagging the luxurious prizes as the Big Winner, and the anticipated rise to stardom, they did their best to stay inside the house as long as they could.

With a few of them now making headlines in the showbiz industry, how are our well-loved first batch of PBB Teen Edition housemates doing now?

Aldred Gatchalian

He was not able to withstand the homesickness and the pressure he felt while inside the house, thus after a week, Aldred chose to exit voluntarily. Regardless, he was still able to establish his name in showbiz and became busy with his television and movie appearances, such as My Big Love, Angelito: Ang Bagong Yugto, Nasaan Ka Elisa, Love Spell, and Crazy For You.

He left the limelight and pursued a degree in Associate Studies in Arts at the University of the Philippines Open University Program. He’s currently enjoying life in Los Angeles, California.

Mikki Arceo

Tagged as the “Orig na Astig ng Davao City,” Mikki was known to possess a “don’t care attitude” and boyish personality, as shown in her frequent wearing of bandana. During their first week, she already got into a heated argument with fellow housemate Olyn. She was the first housemate to be officially evicted.

She may be quite a tomboy in her teenage years, Mikki is now a doting wife and mother to two kids.

Bam Romana

Younger brother of seasoned actress Dimples Romana, Bam shared his bubbliness to his housemates. However, his stay was halted when Big Brother decided to forcibly evict him after committing the gravest violations, such as talking without lapel microphone, writing using pen and paper, using hand signals, and whispering among others.

Aside from his nurse consultant job in a pharmaceutical corporation, Bam also does philanthropy works through his #coloringbooksandcrayonsproject and #pandesalproject that aim to support less fortunate families and cancer patients. He also joined in the recent Kerry Sports Manila Vertical Run 2017 held at Shangri La at the Fort.

Niña Jose

After getting eliminated during the second eviction night, the “Sosy Girl of Makati” ventured in show business starring in various shows and movies like Da Adventures of Pedro Penduko, Your Song Presents, Precious Hearts Romances, Banana Split, Shake Rattle and Roll 10 and 12, and Lumayo Ka Nga Sa Akin. She also became a celebrity endorser and cover girl of magazines. Her last appearance was in Miho Nishida’s Maalala Mo Kaya episode last year.

She’s now the First Lady of the Municipality of Bayambang, Pangasinan after tying the knot with business tycoon and Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao.

Joaqui Mendoza

Due to Aldred’s voluntary exit, the “Certified Chickboy of Paranaque City” entered the house. But his stay was just short-lived after garnering the least number of votes and got evicted at Day 21. After PBB, he became visible through his stints in Love Spell, ASAP, Your Song, and Kelly! Kelly! Ang Hit na Musical.

Being a taekwondo black belter at first, Joaqui is now also into mixed martial arts and wrestling while being in the corporate world.

Fred Payawan

The “Perfectionist Hunk of Paranaque” has been Gerald Anderson’s best friend since their sojourn in the house. But unlike his buddy, he exited earlier together with Joaqui. He accepted minor roles in various shows and several flicks like Apoy sa Dagat, Wansapanataym, Maalaala Mo Kaya, My Girl, Imortal, Maria del Barrio, Walang Hanggan, and My Big Love. He is now an account executive in ABS-CBN.

Olyn Meimban

Known for being tactless and frank, Olyn still won the hearts of the audiences nonetheless. We all admired her during the episode in which she won a dating game and even became the bride of Frankie, a tall man disguised as Frankenstein Big Brother set off every Halloween to scare his housemates. Later on, it was revealed that Kuya did this as a practical joke for her and to help her overcome one of her fears.

After PBB, she starred in the series Ysabella, Pedro Penduko, Wanted Mr. Perfect, and Pasko Na, Santa Ko. In 2008, she left the limelight to prioritize her position as SK Chairwoman in a barangay in Project 8. She is now happily married and just gave birth to a bouncing baby boy last May 2017.

Matt Evans

This Happy Go Lucky dude was remarkable for his kinky hairstyle. His closeness with co-housemate Olyn bloomed into a relationship for more than a year and half. After his PBB gig, he became a household name after appearing in strings of projects through the years. He frequents in Your Song Presents, Love Spell Presents, Maalaala Mo Kaya, and Ipaglaban Mo. But he became more famous in his roles as the titular Pedro Penduko and in portraying gay characters such as Jay in The Reunion, Nathan in Must Date the Playboy, and Andrei in The Greatest Love. He was also partnered with young actress Melissa Ricks.

Currently, Matt is a doting husband to his wife Katrina Farinas and father to Hayden, Hayley, and Harper.

Brenda Fox

After Bam’s early exit, Brenda replaced her. She was introduced to the housemates after the second nomination night. She fell short in achieving a slot in the Big Four as she got evicted that fateful night when the lucky four housemates were announced. She became visible after PBB as she starred in Line to Heaven, Pasko Na, Santa Ko! and Bituing Walang Ningning. However, nothing was heard about her since then.

Jamilla Obispo

Setting her son Miggy as inspiration, Jamila became one of the great contenders inside the house, but unfortunately got evicted alongside Brenda the night the first ever Teen Big Four was announced. Regardless, it was through her and her housemates’ sacrifice and formidable perseverance in their Operation Smile task that the five operations of her baby boy with cleft palate was completed, which was the main reason of her participation in the reality show.

She entered the world of showbiz and became known as a sexy actress, appearing in several projects and magazines. She’s now happily married with two kids and a skin care specialist at the same time in her own clinic in Pasay City.

Clare Cabiguin

Her name might not be very resonating unlike her co-housemates, but her good relationship with them brought her to the Fourth Big Placer spot. She wasn’t able to pursue show business and returned to her simple life in Bukidnon. She is now a loving homemaker to her husband and three sons and works as an Executive Assistant at the Provincial Government of the said province.

Gerald Anderson

From being an AmBoy hottie, he is now one of the most sought-after leading men and top heartthrobs in the country. After emerging as the Third Big Placer, he since then became very active in showbiz headlining consecutive TV and movie projects, such as Tayong Dalawa, Sana Maulit Muli, My Girl, Budoy, Til My Heartache Ends, On-The-Job, Paano Na Kaya, Always Be My Maybe, and How To Be Yours among others. He frequently performs in ASAP and now make us all kilig in the comeback of his teamup with former girlfriend Kim Chiu in the daytime series Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin. Aside from showbiz, he also keeps himself busy in joining triathlons.

Mikee Lee

Like Clare, Mikee didn’t also pursue a career in showbiz. After his Second Big Placer finish in PBB, he went back to school to finish his studies. He is currently a strategy and planning professional in Singapore.

During his sojourn, he was involved in a love triangle with Kim and Gerald, and the two boys were even engaged in a Teen Debate hosted by former regular housemate Jason Gainza. Gerald won in the end and had a carnival-themed date with her.

Kim Chiu

The Chinita Princess continues to win our hearts even after PBB where she transpired as the first-ever Teen Big Winner. Her housemates adored her for her bubbly personality and unbelievable flexibility.

Since then, she became one of this country’s sought-after leading ladies and top celebrity endorsers. She became Gerald’s perennial loveteam and they even got into a romantic affair. Their breakup kicked off her team-up with Xian Lim. She top-billed various blockbuster hit movies and top-rating TV shows, such as Paano Na Kaya?, Till My Heartaches End, Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo, Bride For Rent, Ettiquette for Mistresses, My Girl, My Binondo Girl, Tayong Dalawa, and Sana Maulit Muli to name a few.

She can be frequently seen in ASAP every Sunday and reunites with Gerald in Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin. Like him, Kim is also active in marathons.
