As FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano flips on the new chapter of its consistently riveting narrative, a new set of thespians are tapped to grace the show and add spice to the journey of our modern-day fictional hero Ricardo “Cardo” Dalisay, in which two of them are the mom-and-daughter tandem of Nadia Montenegro and Alyanna “Ynna” Asistio.

Almost four months after her stint in the now-defunct daytime series Playhouse, Nadia currently portrays another maternal role on FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, but this time with her real-life daughter Ynna, who is one of her eight children with late husband Caloocan City ex-mayor Macario “Boy” Asistio Jr.

Ynna, on the other hand, appeared in three teleseryes and has been appearing in several episodes of Maalaala Mo Kaya and Ipaglaban Mo ever since her transfer in the Kapamilya network.

They take on the roles of Nida and Vanessa, respectively, who own a grill house called Ihaw Balot.

Both of them are indeed over the moon for being chosen by the well-loved series’ lead actor, director, writer, and creative director Coco Martin to be part of the series and being given the wonderful opportunity to work with him, which they imparted to their followers on Instagram.

“Nakakabilib how you do your work not just an actor but also as a director, creative, and a writer of your show. Ngayon, nakita ko[ang] ginagawa mo sa likod ng camera [and] how dedicated you are with your work. Napapailing nalang ako sa bilib sa’yo. Hindi nakakapagtataka kung bakit mahal na mahal ng taoAng Probinsyano’. It’s a privilege to work with you and also with my mom!” Ynna gushed.

She also imparted how she had to wait for 13 hours just to get the right timing to snap a photo with the Kapamilya superstar and went on to thank him for fulfilling her dad’s dream.

The same goes with her Mommy Nadia who also shared how happy and grateful she is to be part of the hit teleserye and how she admires the hard work of Coco and the whole crew behind the cam.

“Saludo lang ako sa’yo. Watched you all night till dawn how you and the whole team worked so hard. You directed us, you took care of the script and all our lines [and] our blocking, tapos actor ka pa. Parang it takes 10 people to do what you do and the best part is how you take care of each and every one of us, making sure your co actors are ok. I’m just so grateful to be part of this. Nag-iisa ka @mr.cocomartin.”, she wrote.

Just looking at their snaps with the other members of the ensemble behind the scenes, which we collated in this gallery, it’s easy to say that these actresses are indeed enjoying their every second on the set.
What could be the significance of their characters in Cardo’s life? Stay tuned to FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, weeknights after TV Patrol on Primetime Bida, for you to find out!
