He was indeed among the most sought-after leading man and well-loved heartthrobs of his generation who girls and girls-at-heart terribly admired during the peak of his career in the 90s, and perhaps, even until now.

The son of the late action star Rudy Fernandez and actress-politician Alma Moreno, Mark Anthony Fernandez stepped out from the shadows of his famous parents and created his own mark in the industry. This was proven by his unforgettable stints in the movies and teleseryes he starred in, such as “Palibhasa Lalake” (1991), “Pare Ko” (1994), “Mangarap Ka” (1995), and “Matimbang Pa Sa Dugo” (1995).

Moving forward to the present, it seems Mark’s firstborn with his ex-wife Melissa Garcia is set to follow his footsteps—the equally-charming and good-looking teen actor Grae Fernandez, proving the adage “like father, like son” is true with the following reasons:

They have striking resemblance

At first glance, we could easily see how their physical features are arguably similar – from his hair, his face, and even his height. Ladies better brace their hearts from being captured by their handsomeness.

They are both actors

Like what we have mentioned above, Mark used to be one of the most bankable heartthrobs of the 90s and has turned out to become one of the most seasoned actors we have in the industry right now.

He has appeared in various television dramas of a rival network and showcased his acting chops in different genre films. His current project is the hit series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.

On the other hand, Grae has been in the show business for five years now and has already starred in different teleseryes and two movies of the Kapamilya network, such as Wansapanataym (2014, 2017), Bagito (2015), Pangako Sa ‘Yo (2015), Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin (2017), Star Cinema’s “The Love Affair” (2015), and the iWant exclusives “Spirits: Reawaken” (2018) and “Spark” (2019).

They are members of a boy group

Narrating the journey of the 40-year-old actor would never be complete without mentioning the boy group “Gwapings” in which he was once part of during his teenage years alongside fellow actors Eric Fructuso, Jomari Yllana, and Jao Mapa.

Many years after, his son also catapulted to fame as one of the members of an all-male pop music group named “Gimme 5”, which also includes teen stars Nash Aguas, Joaquin Reyes, Brace Arquiza, and John Bermundo.

They love basketball

We might have not seen Mark on the hardcourt, but Grae revealed in his interview on Tonight With Boy Abunda that they usually spend their leisure time together by talking about and playing basketball whenever their schedules permit.

They both appeared on FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano

Avid Kapamilya viewers surely got infuriated by the mischievous schemes of his character Brandon, the prodigal and equally-vicious son of President Lucas Cabrera (Edu Manzano) in the primetime action drama FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.

However, arguably, only some of us could recall that Grae also once guested in the show to portray the teenage version of Paulo Avelino’s character, the cunning and pretentious Eric “Erwin” Maniego, during the first season in 2016.

Mark and Grae are #FatherAndSonGoals indeed, aren’t they?
