It was indeed one of the saddest dates in the local entertainment scene as we bid farewell to one of the most talented and funniest people we’ve ever met or seen following Chokoleit’s shocking demise last Saturday night, March 9, after his set in the Kawayan Festival program in the province of Abra.

Because of the irreparable void he has left in the industry, most importantly to the hearts and minds of his loved ones and every people close to him, ASAP Natin ‘To paid tribute to Chokoleit, or Jonathan Aguilar Garcia in real life, through a special song number in ASAP.

As he introduced the performers, Piolo Pascual, who was able to work with the late comedian-actor through the countless live shows and international tours they had together in the past years, also imparted his own share of unforgettable and fun memories with him.

“Kapamilya, kagabi isang malungkot na balita ang bumulaga sa ating lahat tungkol sa ating isang Kapamilya, a good friend of mine, na si Chokoleit.” He began. “[If] There’s one thing about Chokoleit is that, kahit pagod ‘yan, kahit walang tulog, he makes sure that he’s able to make people happy. Napakahirap na trabaho pero kung anong nakikita n’yo sa TV, eh ‘yon po talaga ang character ni Chokoleit – talagang mapagbigay.”

He added, “Nakasama ko siya sa maraming shows. One thing I can say about him is napaka-selfless niya. Kahit na tinutukso siya, kahit na inaasar siya ng mga tao, he always plays sport and that’s one thing we’ll surely miss about him.”

The Ultimate Heartthrob ended his short intro by saying that in spite of the heartbreak Chokoleit’s loss has caused everyone who loves him, they all knew that he still prefers to be remembered in a happy note.

“Mahirap tanggapin pero we know, Chokoleit kung nasaan ka man, gusto mong alalahanin ka namin na masaya. Kaya naman ngayon, we celebrate our happy memories with you Chokoleit,” he said.

Then, a montage of the late comedian-actor’s most memorable moments on television and movies in his more than 10 years in show business flashed onscreen, including one of his shows as one of the most in-demand stand-up comedians of his time and his last gig in Abra.

Thank you for the laughter and good vibes you brought us Chokoleit!
