Marco Gumabao is indeed one lucky guy not only because of the overwhelming opportunities that came pouring on him, but also of being able to work with his ultimate crush, seasoned actress and It’s Showtime host Anne Curtis, twice.
He admitted his admiration towards her and his yearning to work opposite her in his interview in Tonight with Boy Abunda last January 2018.

“Before I transferred to Viva, they always asked me, ‘sino ‘yong artistang gusto mong makatrabaho na from Viva? I’d always say na ‘Anne Curtis’,” the actor, who just turned 25 years old this August 14, confessed.
Then he added, “Well, first, aside from her being my crush, whenever I watch her on [It’s] Showtime, parang what you see is what you get,” and further expounded “Parang wala siyang tinatago, like her personality. Parang gusto ko ‘yong gano’n na personality na bubbly, very energetic.”
It can be recalled that the first time they worked alongside each other was in the 2018 Metro Manila Film Fest entry “Aurora” wherein they portray the role of ex-lovers who got reunited through a horrifying yet well-compensating task of retrieving cadavers from a shipwreck.
And this year, the Precious Hearts Romances Presents Los Bastardos star is given another chance to collaborate with her via the Jason Paul Laxamana masterpiece “Just A Stranger,” which will be shown this coming August 21. Unlike in their first movie, Marco and Anne will portray two strangers in this romantic flick, who coincidentally met during their respective trips in Portugal, became friends, and developed an illicit affair. Aside from being already married, what would make their relationship more complicated is Anne’s character Mae’s huge age gap to Marco’s Jericho.
As we await the premiere of this highly-anticipated film, we’re able to witness how their connection flourished from being colleagues to becoming friends in real life, as what we could see in their photos together which they post in their respective Instagram accounts. Besides, during the press conference of “Just A Stranger,” the 34-year-old actress imparted that being a more experienced thespian, she willingly guided her leading man in their steamy, sensual scenes.
Meanwhile, in an interview an article published in PUSH dated May 14, 2019, Marco expressed nothing but praises to her and gratitude for being chosen to do this project.
“Anne is really… sobrang bait niya. Wala akong masabi. She is perfect, parang I couldn’t ask for anyone else na makasama in this movie,” he stated.
Then he added, “Sobrang bait niya, sobrang perfect. That’s why super thankful ako sa Viva and of course kay Anne na ako ‘yung pinili nila to do this.”
