Ethel Booba bagged the first Tawag Ng Tanghalan Celebrity Champions Grand title on Saturday, November 9.


Garnering a score of 39.83%, Ethel gave a stirring rendition of Willy Cruz’s award-winning song “I’ll Never Say Goodbye” originally sung by Nonoy Zuniga in her final number that drew a rousing ovation from the crowd and judges.


She earlier sung in the initial round in the Huling Tapatan her own version of the standard “What Kind of Fool Am I?”


A close second was Jason Fernandez at 36.79%, fascinating the audience with his version of After Image’s “Next In Line” as his last song. He earlier sung another After Image hit “Mangarap Ka” in the first round.


Rounding up the top three is Roxanne Barcelo, at 23.39%, mesmerizing the crowd with Gary Valenciano’s “How Did You Know?” She did a grand performance of Marilyn Monroe’s “Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend” in the first round.


Ethel will bring home 300,000 pesos, plus a recording contract, among other prizes.
