Even before she was born, everybody around them already knew what her fate would be.

Being the offspring of the mightiest vampire Mateo (John Lloyd Cruz) and the Chosen One Lia (Angel Locsin), pressure has never escaped Malia. She’s been powerful since birth when they transferred their special powers and protection onto her.

She had a simple yet enjoyable childhood, until her parents got assassinated by Sandrino (Richard Gutierrez), leaving her in the custody of Baristo (Joross Gamboa) and Lydia (Nikki Valdez), two of the survivors of La Liga Unida massacre. During her stay in the camp, she underwent strenuous trainings and self-defense skills along with the young members of their pack.

When her 21st birthday came, everybody expected her to manifest at least one of the supernatural powers and form of her parents, but she remained a mortal. After the second wave of the vampires’ attack at their hideout that killed more of their members including Lydia (Nikki Valdez) and the Punong Bantay then Frederick (Victor Neri), Malia fled with a promise of taking on her role as the New Chosen One someday.

In order to gradually penetrate Sandrino’s organization, she assumed two different identities - the hardworking guy named Miyo Alcantara and the gorgeous female vampire-slayer Toni Lumakad. While she was doing her own surveillance, she bumped into Tristan (Daniel Padilla), a young man who also seeks vengeance against the cruel vampires who killed his father, Tonyo (Romnick Sarmenta). With their frequent encounters, they found out that they share the same mission, so they became allies.

However, her life got endangered when Senator Salvador Paglinauan (Freddie Webb), the running mate of Gilbert Imperial (Sandrino’s mortal identity) in the elections, ordered Miyo’s assassination. A mystical phenomenon miraculously healed her wounds and evolved her into a blooming and more powerful lady.

She reorganized LLU and was proclaimed as the new Punong Bantay. They joined forces with Moonchasers and together, they fearlessly fight against the heinous vampires.

She met Gilbert’s cunning political strategist who turned out to be the highest leader of Moonchasers – Jacintha Magsaysay (Angel Locsin). She helped in unleashing Malia’s powers and discovering what the future holds for her and Tristan.

After waiting for a very long time, Malia was able to fulfill her supernatural ability as the New Chosen One as she successfully transformed into a white werewolf upon seeing Tristan in danger in the hands of Sandrino.

Upon knowing that Sandrino and Tristan are half-brothers, she and the rest of their organization become more protective of him, making sure that the vampires would not find out his whereabouts.

However, everything started to change when Jacintha killed Tristan and she suddenly disappeared into thin air during their intense battle.

Two years after the tragedy, LLU lived peacefully and normally under Malia’s reign. But she had to face another challenge when two of the Waya Corp councils betrayed her and connived with Supremo – Geneva (Pinky Amador) and Soraya (Denise Laurel). With the enforcement of the new national ID system that put the lives of werewolves in great peril, Malia’s cleverness in analyzing and assessing situations had saved the captured werewolves.

Surprisingly, she crossed paths with Tristan during the Heroes Ball, wherein they both protected the humans from mass conversion and slayed all the vampires in the venue. She strongly believed that he is still the same Tristan they knew, thus she never faltered to convince him to join them.

She succeeded in persuading him and they became partners once again. She was also able to make his heart beat again, hinting the vulnerability of his powers and cursed ink.

Now with a stronger and larger force, the enemies entered the Moonchasers headquarters and killed most of its members. The combined powers of Malia and LLU weren’t enough to defeat them, so they just escaped with Tristan.

After what happened, appended by Sandrino and Soraya’s redemption of their position in the societal hierarchy, our courageous heroine proposed to travel back in time (like what Jacintha did to extinguish Sandrino). But Tristan didn’t allow her because he is confident that they can defeat Supremos’s horde together in the present. However, another tragedy triggered the fury of the couple when Sandrino’s evil clone killed Baristo during an unexpected encounter and Tristan’s grandparents after he refused to end Malia’s life.

Filled with grief and loss, Malia’s full transformation ensued proving the theory that she and Jacintha are one. She dons the red cape the mysterious Lady In Red used to wear and possesses a mixture of the characteristics and abilities of a werewolf and a vampire.

Now that she has achieved the evolution she and her race have been anticipating for, will they be able to topple down Sandrino, his clone, and his legion? Let’s see on the finals episode of La Luna Sangre.
