As the JM de Guzman and Barbie Imperial-starrer Araw Gabi is down to its last three weeks, avid followers of the Precious Hearts Romances Presents series should brace themselves for the next book that will surely make our afternoons more scorching and intense.

Based on Cardinal Bastards, the novel written by local romance best-seller author Vanessa, Precious Hearts Romances Presents Los Bastardos tells the story of five dashing men who share the same father and will do everything to claim his fortune.

The television adaptation is handled by RSB Unit, the same production and creative team behind the highly acclaimed primetime series Wildflower, and is headlined by Josh Colet, Albie Casiño, Marco Gumabao, Diego Loyzaga and Jake Cuenca, with veteran actor Ronaldo Valdez playing the main supporting role.

Of course, every leading man should have his lady counterpart. And for the highly-anticipated drama, it would be the following actresses:

Mary Joy Apostol

Those who were able to catch the multi-awarded and critically-acclaimed independent flick “Birdshot” would find this breakout star familiar, basically because she was its headliner. As such, this Tourism Management graduate from Bulacan State University snagged the Best Actress trophy during The Eddys Entertainment Editors’ Choice ceremony last July 2018 and at the 1st ASEAN Film Awards held in Vietnam last year. She was also hailed as one of the Film Ambassadors of Film Development Council of the Philippines due to her global achievements.

She stunned us once more in her appearance in the “Kakampi” episode of Ipaglaban Mo, portraying a mentally-challenged girl abused and lured by her older siblings and found a savior in her cousin, played by Maris Racal. Majoy will be teamed up with Albie Casiño.

Mica Javier

We know her as one of the talented and gorgeous members of It’s Showtime’s all-female group GirlTrends, but she is surprisingly more than just a noontime show dancer. This well-rounded artist already made it to Hollywood through music – as a recording artist under rapper-record producer Timbaland and her song “3000 Light Years” got featured in the popular American TV shows Glee and Dance Moms. Besides, she also had cameos in Gossip Girl and How To Make It In America.

Apart from that, she appeared in a number of television commercials and magazines and walked the catwalk of runway shows locally as a model, too. It was revealed in an article on PUSH that she’s going to have a special participation as well in an international TV series starring Steven Seagal.

Along with her musical career, she also pursues acting by her appearances in some Kapamilya programs and movies, such as “Siargao” (2017) and “Love Me Tomorrow” (2016). Now, we’re about to see her as the love interest of Josh Colet in Los Bastardos.

Jane Oineza

Among this roster, we can say that she has the widest experience in show business. She kicked off her career at the age of four and since appeared in a number of TV programs and movies. But her most notable stints were in Maalaala Mo Kaya, in which she got nominated for best actress in the New York Festivals – International TV and Film, 26th PMPC Star Awards for TV, and 10th Golden Screen TV Awards for her portrayal of a sexually-abused teenager in the “Manika” episode. She also won in the 27th PMPC Star Awards for TV in 2013 for another stint on MMK playing the role of a young woman born with cerebral palsy in its “Bimpo” episode.

Her last series was PHR Presents Araw Gabi, breathing life to the character of Amber Distrito. She will be Marco Gumabao’s loveteam partner in Los Bastardos.

Ritz Azul

This young actress has proven her acting flair with impressive performances in the teleseryes she starred in. It was in 2016 when she inked a two-year exclusive contract under Star Magic and ABS-CBN and had her first gig as a Kapamilya in the primetime series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. Her first full-length teleserye was The Promise of Forever, which she top-billed alongside Paulo Avelino in 2017.

Ritz is now a mainstay in Banana Sundae and will headline the romantic-comedy flick “The Hopeful Romantic” opposite Pepe Herrera. Soon, she’ll go back to the Kapamilya Gold block as the leading lady of Diego Loyzaga in Los Bastardos.

Maxine Medina

After succeeding Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach as the Binibining Pilipinas winner in 2016 and representing the country in the 65th Miss Universe where she was one of the Top 6 finalist, she has found her place in the local entertainment industry.

In the span of two years, Maxine already has two movies and a teleserye under her belt, with her role as Attorney Georgette San Diego in the soap opera Hanggang Saan as the most notable.

She’s going to be one of the special women in the life of Isagani, played by Jake Cuenca.

Kylie Versoza

She made us proud for winning the Miss International title in 2016, and was acclaimed as having the most productive reign due to her mental health awareness advocacy, among others.

The beauty queen might be reluctant to join show business at first, but she eventually gave in to persistent offers. She appeared in the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Ang Panday,” then had a special participation in the romantic-drama flick “Kasal,” before appearing as one of the five lead stars of the comedy movie “Abay Babes.”

On her first-ever teleserye stint, Kylie will figure in a love triangle involving Jake Cuenca and fellow Binibining Pilipinas titleholder Maxine Medina.

Brace yourselves as these beautiful and talented women of Los Bastardos are about to spice up our afternoons this October.
