Danita Paner plays Leila, a nurse who will hide and take care of Waldo (Jericho Rosales) in the newest primetime teleserye, “Magpahanggang Wakas.” Danita recalls that she could not believe her luck at first, going so far as to ask her mother to double-check if the offer for the role was true. She was just overwhelmed because, of all the male celebrities, she admires Jericho the most. This is why she feels truly grateful that now she gets to work with him in a project.
Danita also recounts that she had only 3 days to prepare for her role, so the only thing she was able to do was to read her lines and get her requirements ready. When asked about how relatable her role is, the actress says that a lot of people will be able to connect to Leila since everyone can identify with hoping to be loved back by the one you love. In this respect, Danita shares a similarity with her character. The actress lets slip that she is so much like Leila in that she is also not very verbal when it comes to her feelings. When she likes someone, she keeps mum about it. And in playing Leila in “Magpahanggang Wakas,” Danita says that she learned that we all have to be honest with our emotions or we’ll end up, someday, regretting not letting the person we love know how we feel.
But if Leila harbors feelings for Waldo who is in love with another woman, will she then be the next kontrabida to watch out for on primetime TV? Well for now, Danita says that Leila is still nice, but should her character become a villain, she assures everyone that she is ready to embrace it. It is after all quite challenging and not easy to play a villain, but it definitely adds color to the show and leaves a mark to the viewers.
Find out the greatest challenge Danita faced in playing her role and what she thinks is the major difference of “Magpahanggang Wakas” over all the other teleseryes in this Kapamilya Chat special.
