Watching Ngayon at Kailanman it is hard to predict where the story would go. You expect one thing to happen, instead it would offer you a twist here and a surprise there. Of course, the cast’s performance also greatly contributes to this primetime drama’s success. So, we wanted to know how it has been like for lead star Joshua Garcia.

Portraying Inno Cortes means being assertive when speaking. Because of this, Joshua has learned to be confident. Conversing with his leading lady Julia Barretto has also been a big help. “Nasasanay nga ko sa kanya, parang siya na ‘yung pinaka exercise ko sa umaga,” he revealed. Whenever she talks to him, sometimes he does not notice that he replies in English. Although, he still goes back to Tagalog when he has problems with grammar.

“’Yun lang talaga ‘yung mahirap sa’kin,” Joshua said about speaking in English. Other than this, challenges arrive depending on the scene. For instance, shooting for the super typhoon was particularly tough because of the nature element, “Mahirap talaga gawin ‘yun kasi mababasa ka.” Always wearing a pair of glasses is also hard for him. “Medyo pango kasi ako nang konti,” he joked. Especially when his nose bridge gets oily, they would keep sliding down.

As for working with the rest of the cast, Joshua admitted to once feeling intimidated by Alice Dixson, “Noong una kasi siyempre nangangapa pa ko”. But eventually when taping was in full swing, they relaxed more and became natural, “Hindi na namin namamalayan na pumapasok na kami mismo doon sa character namin. Mas malaya na kami nakakagalaw.”

Meanwhile, he feels that his lola Rosemarie Gil is the nicest person. They even get to joke around often. As for his on-screen brother Jameson Blake, it has been a while since they shot a scene together, but he has nothing but praise for the Hashtag member.

On the other hand, he was completely starstruck working with Iza Calzado. He could not help but notice her beautiful eyes. “Na-amaze lang talaga ko,” he confessed. Because of this, they had to shoot over and over again, “Pero sila Direk naman, supportive naman, tinatawanan na lang ‘yung mali ko.”

There is still so much viewers can look forward to from this drama. Inno and Eva’s love story has yet to bloom. When it does, expect a wall of obstacles to stand in their way. This aside from Stella and Rebecca’s face off. Joshua also teased about new characters joining the fun. We already met one of them, Pen Medina who previously coached the young actor. “Ang dami pa, sobrang dami,” he ended on a positive note.
