So close yet so far.

That was what happened to Lance Carr and Angela Tungol as they were declared the latest evictees on the final eviction night of the third batch of Pinoy Big Brother Otso held last Friday night, May 24.

However, instead of moping over their failure to enter their batch’s Big 4, the two still mustered to brandish positive disposition as they accepted their fate and bade farewell to their housemates who became their family in their almost two-month sojourn inside the house.

The presentation of the Batch 3 Big 4 commenced with host Toni Gonzaga calling up the first two housemates to enter the elite group after winning their Big Jump to the Big 4 Challenges – Batit Espiritu and Tan Roncal – to step on their respective platforms and don the maroon jackets with their shimmering gold badges pinned to it signifying their status in the competition.

Garnering only 7.86% of the total public votes, the “Cap-Teen Ball Cutie of Davao” was named the first evictee of the night. He was welcomed back to the outside world by his Mommy Elaine, who is proud of her unico hijo because of how he relentlessly conquered every challenge given to them by Kuya.

Being the two housemates to obtain the highest percentage of votes, Ashley del Mundo (56.45%) and Yen Quirante (22.7%) joined the “Boy Masigasig of Nueva Ecija” and “KuliTisoy of Davao” in their bid to the Big Winner spot.

The “Hataw Hottie of Bataan” was the second and last housemate to be pronounced evicted after the votes she received that only comprised 13% of the total failed her to move on to the final round. Greeting her upon her exit was Daddy Rolando, who thanked Kuya for unleashing the “big sister” in their family’s youngest member.

When asked who among the four are their top bet deserves to be the Big Winner, both Lance and Angela expressed their support for Batit because of the determination and gumptiousness he displayed, persuading their supporters to help him win the fight.
