Child wonder JJ Quilantang’s unforgettable TV appearances

Mary Ann Bardinas September 07,2018 11:30 PM

In a span of one year, one of this generation’s phenomenal child actors, Justin James Quilantang, has made us fall in love with him because of his unmistakable cuteness and impressive performance in every television and movie he starred in at a very young age.

Now, he is about to charm us once again as the orphaned Robin who, because of his parents’ tragic death, will become the foster child of Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo’s characters Marlon and Patty in the upcoming series Playhouse.

As we wait for his adorable portrayal, let’s take a look back on some of his remarkable appearances on the Kapamilya Network.

La Luna Sangre

Whose heart did not melt and eyes did not well up in his heartwarming and captivating scenes in the now-defunct primetime series La Luna Sangre? Although it was his acting debut, JJ immediately got us smitten over him as he played the gumptious and naughty, yet loving and thoughtful young Tristan Torralba (Daniel Padilla). His every scene with his Tatay Tonio (Romnick Sarmenta) never failed to make us cry and appreciate more our parents, thus, EdukCircle Awards bestowed him the Best Child Artist trophy.

Gandang Gabi Vice

Fresh from his remarkable gig, he and his fellow child stars in the teleserye displayed their playful and cheeky sides in Gandang Gabi Vice. Just when we thought that it was a simple interview, it turned out the other way around as they began to bombard the host with their jokes and random utterances, while JJ startled Vice Ganda and even messed his hair.

Magandang Buhay

A few days after, the six-year-old kiddo then graced the morning show Magandang Buhay to share his memorable experience in life and in his first-ever project. He even received a poignant message from Romnick Sarmenta (his father in La Luna Sangre), expressing his appreciation and giving him pieces of advice on how to prolong his successful run in show business.

MMK ‘Traysikel’

Also after his breakthrough appearance in La Luna Sangre, he played the adorable and supportive son of Ketchup Eusebio’s paralytic character Tatay George in the touching MMK episode “Traysikel.”

Goin’ Bulilit

JJ’s talent was eventually got noticed by Edgar “Bobot” Mortiz, the director of the long-running kiddie comedy program Goin’ Bulilit, and continues to spread good vibes to the viewers every Sunday night as one of the wacky little ensemble.

Little Big Shots

Before 2017 ended, he dropped by the Little Big Shots stage to chat with host Billy Crawford regarding his first acting stint and filled our hearts with his overwhelming cuteness. His idol Daniel Padilla, who was the adult Tristan Torralba in La Luna Sangre, also gave his heartfelt message for him.

Home Sweetie Home

Aside from these, he also appeared in an episode of Home Sweetie Home last August as a pupil at the school where Julie (Toni Gonzaga) teaches.

Are you ready to get captivated once more with JJ’s cuteness and enthralling acting talent? Catch him on Playhouse starting September 17.
