Piolo Pascual’s extensive teleserye run that made him an ultimate leading man

He wouldn’t be hailed as the “Ultimate Heartthrob” for nothing. Aside from his apparent good looks, he can also make us swoon with his soothing singing voice and undisputed acting flair, which are his keys to keep shining for 24 years in the local entertainment industry.


From being a part of the educational children’s program A.T.B.P., Piolo Pascual auditioned for Star Circle 3, which paved his way for guesting stints in Mara Clara and Gimik. He started to become more visible to the public as he played bigger roles in television series and was paired with the esteemed leading ladies of ABS-CBN.


The multi-awarded actor was first teamed up with Kristine Hermosa in the 1998 soap opera Sa Sandaling Kailangan Mo Ako. They worked again in 2009 when he guested in one of the episodes of Komiks Presents: Nasaan Ka Maruja and in 2010 for Noah.


His unmistakable chemistry with Teleserye Queen Judy Ann Santos in the classic Esperanza (1998) absolutely racked up a huge throng of followers, spawning to a successful loveteam and string of movie and TV projects including Sa Puso Ko Iingatan Ka (2001) and Sa Piling Mo (2006).


Another successful on-screen partnership of the 41-year-old actor was with Claudine Barretto, to whom he worked with in a romantic flick and two series – Buttercup (2003) and Walang Kapalit (2007).


Papa P (as what his fans and colleagues fondly call him) was also paired with seasoned actresses Angelica Panganiban in Mangarap Ka (2004) and Apoy sa Dagat (2013), Angel Locsin in Lobo (2008), KC Concepcion in the Filipino remake of Lovers in Paris (2009), and Iza Calzado in Hawak-Kamay (2014).


Apart from that, he also appeared in the finale of May Bukas Pa and a number of Maalaala Mo Kaya episodes. Would you believe if we say that he used to portray the role of a priest? It was in the 2012 family drama Dahil sa Pag-ibig.


Now, he is regularly seen in the sitcom Home Sweetie Home every Saturday and in the variety show ASAP every Sunday.


And after four years of taking a break in doing dramas, Piolo is back as the handsome and arrogant company executive Nathan Capistrano in the upcoming primetime series Since I Found You, alongside Arci Muñoz, JC de Vera, Alessandro de Rossi, and Empoy Marquez.
