Try Not To Flinch Challenge with Jed Madela

Kaye Ricarte October 27, 2018 12:20 PM

Singer-songwriter Jed Madela is gearing up for his upcoming concert event entitled: "Higher than High", in celebration of his 15th anniversary in showbiz.  With a repertoire of hit singles, performing arts and music awards, as well as several platinum records in the last 15 years, what better way to celebrate this milestone than to hold a solo concert in the one of the most iconic concert venues in the Philippines?

The 41-year-old balladeer made waves at the World Championships of Performing Arts in 2005 where he practically obliterated the competition after winning all the major industry awards, making him the first Filipino to win the title. Known for his soaring ballads, he’s considered as one of the best male singers the country has ever produced with a unique countertenor voice that surely became his signature sound.

Jed has since then released 9 albums—including “Songs Rediscovered” which went double-platinum. Today, he’s known for sold-out shows and is a mainstay of ABS-CBN’s Sunday variety show, ASAP. He is also a judge and mentor for his fellow singers in some popular Kapamilya programs such as It’s Showtime’s Tawag ng Tanghalan and Your Face Sounds Familiar.

In this ABS-CBN.com Entertainment Exclusive, Jed takes on the Try Not to Flinch Challenge where he’s tasked to sing while balloons taped onto his arms are popped spontaneously. As the game went, the singer proves not only to be a talented artist as he belted out to his original song, "Superhero," but also a brave heart after he unflinchingly finished the challenge with ease.

Catch Jed as he performs his timeless hits on his first major concert at the Big Dome, happening this November 16, 2018.
