Teleseryes that made our 2018 complete have thrilled us, made us laugh and also let us shed tears. As we end the year, here are some of the most heart-rending scenes that may have resonated in us for a long time since the day we witnessed it on television.
Most of those scenes that broke our hearts are the mourning of our favorite protagonists over the death of the characters that are close to their hearts. One was on FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano when former President Oscar Hidalgo (Rowell Santiago) laid flat on his wife and children’s graves, reminiscing how helpless he was as he watched them getting killed in an ambush, orchestrated by acting President Lucas Cabrera (Edu Manzano).
Ivy Aguas/Lily Cruz (Maja Salvador) of Wildflower gave us pitiful screams upon seeing the horrifying view of Nanay Carlota Navarro (Ana Abad Santos) hanging above her.
As Maila Salcedo Agbayani (Bing Loyzaga) passed away at the hospital, the cry of her daughter Bianca Agbayani (Kim Chiu) made us wail as well in Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin.
The world also mourned with Malia Rodriguez (Kathryn Bernardo) as she lost her adoptive father named Baristo (Joross Gamboa) who raised her into the warrior she is in La Luna Sangre.
And it was so painful to see Joseph Reyes/Buenavidez (Joshua Garcia) almost kill his self after having failed to save his mother Raquel Reyes (Mylene Dizon) from falling off on a high building in The Good Son.
It was truy heart breaking as well when Juliana “Ana” Dimasalang (Julia Montes) and Samantha “Sam” Del Mundo’s (Shaina Magdayao) sobbed over Gael Del Mundo’s (Paulo Avelino) death in Asintado.
Ganda (Liza Soberano) made us weep with her as she said her good byes to her sister Dilag (Precious Lara Quigaman), who was killed by Malaya (Kristine Hermosa) in Bagani.
It was a devastating scene when Lino Bartolome (Jericho Rosales) tried to save his father Gustin Bartolome (Allan Paule) in Halik, but only ended up watching him die.
Playhouse also has made us sob with them as Lola Rebecca “Becca” Ubaldo (Dexter Doria) suddenly died on the show.
And who would forget how tragic the death of Soledad De Jesus-Cardinal (Cristine Reyes) is in Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Los Bastardos?
Erika Castillo (Erich Gonzales) tore our hearts as she wept when they all thought her son Jolo (Karlo Ezekiel Torres) was dead. Jolo didn’t actually die; he was only kidnapped but was saved eventually in The Blood Sisters.
Some of other scenes that made us cry are those that portrayed the most terrible real-life situations. In Hanggang Saan, Sonya Alipio’s (Sylvia Sanchez) action to take responsibility of Edward Lamoste’s (Eric Quizon) death is indeed one sorrowful scene.
It was also so hurtful to witness Nathan Capistrano (Piolo Pascual) and Daniella “Dani” Cobarrubias (Arci Munoz) having a heated exchange over their torn relationship in Since I Found You.
Another scene that made our hearts cry is when Adrian Olvidar (JM De Guzman) confronted his mother Odessa Olvidar (Rita Avila) in Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Araw Gabi, as he finally remembered that he really didn’t kill Harriet (Ana Roces/Ara Mina). Adrian confronted Odessa for concealing the truth, which she only did due to her fear of what Celestina De Alegre (Vina Morales) might do to them.
And in some ways, failed romances deeply pained us. This includes Eva Mapendo/Angela Cortes’ (Julia Barretto) break up with Innocencio "Inno" S. Cortes (Joshua Garcia) in Ngayon at Kailanman and Romina Andrada’s (Beauty Gonzalez) announcement of her cancelled wedding in front of the church in Kadenang Ginto.
Let’s look back at all these heart-rending moments from our Kapamilya teleseryes in the video above.
