“Where, when, and how did you meet?”

Looks and sounds familiar, right? Perhaps, many of us have encountered this trivial question countless times throughout our lives, especially those who lived in the era when slambooks or autographs were highly prevalent and popular among kids and teenagers.

This question supposedly seeks an answer that’s romantically inclined, but since not all have experienced falling in love or being in a relationship during their adolescence, some answered it in a “safe” way. They say that their family is their first love or the love of their lives during those times so they met them “at home” or “since I was born”.

However, some were bold enough to reveal this moment in their lives, such as these Kapamilya celebrities who found their forever while starring in their respective TV shows in the network.

Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez

Mariel Rodriguez accepted the sincere and genuine love offered to him by Robin Padilla nine years ago.

As we all know, their whirlwind romance began when the veteran action star was tapped to be the special guest co-host of the defunct noontime show Wowowee, in which she was one of the gorgeous co-hosts. In his two-week stint in the program, sparks instantly flew between them as their colleagues incessantly teasing them to one another on-and-off-cam because of Robin’s kilig gestures towards her and how she reacted to those. He was also consistently vocal with his intense admiration for her every time he’s asked in interviews, just like in their first-ever face-off in the showbiz-oriented talk show Entertainment Live, in which she was one of the hosts and he was the guest.

On that fun interview, it was truly noticeable how they found it hard to concentrate since they’re apparently smitten with each other’s presence and how titillated they both were as they conversed. The segment ended with Robin putting the diamond ring he gave to Mariel as a remembrance gift on her left ring finger, giving her a poignant birthday message, and telling her “Mahal Kita”.

They tied the knot in a Muslim ceremony held in the historical Taj Mahal in India on August 19, 2010, only three months after they first met. At present, the 49-year-old actor and the 34-year-old host are proud and hands-on parents to their adorable firstborn Maria Isabella.

Billy Crawford and Coleen Garcia

Both coming from long, serious affairs, Billy and Coleen didn’t expect to find their forever when they joined the gregarious ensemble of It’s Showtime in 2011. As years went by, they got closer with each other, sparking rumors and snide remarks from onlookers that marred their blooming beautiful relationship then.

They remained evasive regarding the real score between them, until their return to the Philippines after their holiday trip in the US in 2014 when the host-singer admitted in his guesting in the defunct showbiz-oriented talk show Buzz ng Bayan that he’s indeed pursuing her.

Ever since, the two had been open about their relationship through their noontime show stint and social media accounts, with the young actress calling him as his best friend in one of her posts on Instagram. They only became official in July 2014, when they broke the good news with their It’s Showtime family and the madlang people on-air.

After more than three years of being together and nineteen months of hiding the engagement ring he bought under her cousin Ria Atayde’s care, Billy finally pop the question to Coleen on December 20, 2017. They tied the knot in a whimsical, intimate ceremony held at Balesin Island Resort in Polilio, Quezon on April 20, 2018 and are now living peacefully in their “Crawford Crib” with their furbabies.

James Reid and Nadine Lustre

“She became my friend first before we fell in love.”

From being mere workmates and friends since the first time they worked together in the movie adaptation of the pop fiction “Diary ng Panget” in 2014, Nadine and James’ connection escalated into something romantic when they finished filming the top-rating ABS-CBN series On The Wings Of Love in 2016.

During their JaDine in Love Concert on that same year, their fans went ecstatic when James surprised everyone, including Nadine, when he told her “I love you” at the end of the show, confirming that there’s really indeed something romantic going on between them.

In the OTWOL special hosted by Robi Domingo and Gretchen Ho, the singer-actor admitted that between the two of them, it was him who first fell in love and confessed about it during one of their dates, which totally got Nadine stupefied.

Their revelation truly made everyone more thrilled with their tandem, resulting to their next flicks together, “This Time” and “Never Not Love You,” and teleserye, Till I Met You, huge hits among the viewers and their supporters.

Besides, they began gracing our Instagram newsfeeds with their lovely snaps together during their dates, travels, and night-out with their friends. They also conquer the world hand-in-hand as their musical collaborations soar up to the top of the charts and as they address the issues beleaguering their relationship in a smart way.

Recently, the two celebrated their third anniversary by spending an intimate time together in a famous resort in Lipa City, Batangas.

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla

We’ve been shipping them for around eight years now since the first time they teamed up in the teen drama anthology Growing Up. Due to their unmistakable chemistry, impressive performances in their movies and teleseryes together, and huge fan base they have, Kathryn and Daniel have been hailed as one of the top love teams of their generation.

Within that span, the press, as well as their showbiz friends and fans have been curious about the real deal between them because of their unmissable romantic gestures towards one another on-and-off cam, which they used to always answer impliedly. However, little did we know that these two have been together for over five years now as they finally admitted it during the media launch of their top-grossing romance-drama flick “The Hows of Us” last August 2018, wherein they opened up a bit about their relationship.

Although this didn’t came as a surprise since their actions have been speaking louder than their words, the King Of Hearts’ announcement absolutely thrilled their throngs of supporters and wishes them to live happily ever after which they truly deserve after everything they’ve gone through.

Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil

In this roster, LizQuen is the latest reel-to-real tandem to finally admit their romance.

They first worked together in the 2013 Dingdong Dantes and Bea Alonzo-starrer “She’s The One,” wherein Enrique portrayed the third wheel to the lead characters, while Liza was his best friend who harbored an unrequited love towards him.

The chemistry they exuded in the film did not go unnoticed as the management established their team-up. ABS-CBN let them top-bill three well-loved Kapamilya  teleseryes—Forevermore (2014), Dolce Amore (2016), and Bagani (2018), as well as the kilig blockbuster movies “Just The Way You Are” (2015), “Everyday I Love You” (2015), “My Ex and Whys” (2017), and the recently-released “Alone/Together” (2019).

Despite not coming from the same generation since he began his showbiz career in 2008 while she in 2011, their paths still crossed and are now tagged as among the dominant loveteams in the country.

Within their five years of being an on-screen pair, it’s been unbeknownst to us that Liza and Quen have been officially together for more than two years, which they revealed in their latest guesting on Gandang Gabi Vice during the “Kuryentanong” segment.

Kim Chiu and Xian Lim

Even before their loveteam was formed in 2011 through the romantic-comedy drama My Binondo Girl, only a few probably remember that the paths of Kim and Xian had already three years ago in the 2008 Pinoy adaptation of the Korean drama My Girl, where she was the leading lady while he had a cameo role.

After the team-up of Kim with her former on-screen partner crumbled, Xian was tapped to be her leading man. Their tandem clicked, which spawned to more projects for them both on television and cinema, namely Ina, Kapatid, Anak (2012), The Story Of Us (2016), “Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo” (2013), “Bride For Rent (2014),” “Past Tense” (2014), and “All You Need Is Pag-ibig” (2015).

Just like the other pairs in this list, KimXi also didn’t directly confronted the questions regarding their relationship status in the past years, until the two of them admitted that they’re already a couple in their separate interviews on Tonight With Boy Abunda.

However, prior to their confession, their followers already had the impression that there’s something romantic going on between them with how they behave towards each other on-and-off-cam and based on the photos, videos, or vlogs they posted in their respective social media platforms.

Dawn Chang and Justin Cuyugan

He’s been in the industry for so many years. Meanwhile, she came in to the picture when she joined Pinoy Big Brother 737 in 2015. But the universe made a way for them to bump into each other and later on be the love they’ve been waiting or finding all their lives.

It was in January 2018 when Dawn unraveled their relationship through an IG post, which completely caused a hullaballoo in the online world and garnered varied reactions from both their supporters and the naysayers. But they simply let them slip and have continued to live in their own fairytale, together with Justin’s three kids with his past wife.

How their romance began was unknown yet, until their highly talked about guesting in Umagang Kay Ganda recently, wherein they disclosed that they met on the set of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. He played the role of the gay make-up artist Apple who helped Cardo Dalisay (Coco Martin) in rescuing the human trafficking victims that includes her character Elaine.

The GirlTrends member initially thought that he’s also gay in real life, but later on found out that he’s straight. Months after they parted ways, Justin reached out to her via text, rekindling their connection and igniting the sparks between them.

Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco

Those who have avidly supported PBB since its inauguration in 2005 knew that there are a lot of romances formed inside the house, with the love story of MelaSon probably being one of the most unforgettable.

Coming from two different provinces almost 900 kilometers away from each other, with Melai hailing from General Santos City, South Cotabato while Jason from Mindoro, their paths crossed when they both joined the reality program’s Double Up edition. They grew closer in their longtime sojourn inside the famous yellow house, which resulted to a well-loved tandem that everyone’s been shipping and amused of even after they went back to the outside world, where they were cast in some Kapamilya shows such as Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Impostor and Happy Yipee Yehey.

Melai and Jason tied the knot on December 9, 2013. They now have two (2) adorable children named Amelia Lucille and Stella Rosalind.

Being a part of the grueling and exciting world of show business has its perks and perils indeed. Behind the fame and fortune and the glitz and glamour the celebrities are enjoying lies the difficulties they have to undergo at work – motivating themselves for a scene, memorizing lines, and maintaining a positive disposition while doing their job of bringing entertainment to their audiences and fans.

Furthermore, some artists also struggle often when it comes to their personal lives since their demanding schedules require them to stay on the set for long periods and away from home, sacrificing their precious times with their loved-ones. Besides, the controversies, issues, and snide comments that are attached to their status also contribute to the challenges they, as well as the people dear to them, have to hurdle as long as they stay under the glaring spotlight.

And these couples only prove that whatever the situation would be, nothing would be impossible as long as you have strong faith and love towards each other.
